Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released a new code distribution event in which players can claim a special Rillaboom. The Rillaboom code distribution event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet runs until July 31, so trainers have at least three months to add this special critter to their collections.
Known as the Drummer Pokemon, Rillaboom first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Rillaboom is the fully-evolved form of starter Pokemon Grookey and Thwackey, and it uses a special tree stump as a drum that channels its attacks. Rillaboom’s signature move is Drum Beating, which summons roots to attack the target and lower its speed statistic. Rillaboom can take advantage of its high attack stat with moves like Boomburst and Wood Hammer, meaning it can hold its own in most battle situations compared to other Grass Pokemon Starters.
Similar to how past Pokemon like Jumppluff have been distributed. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers may now claim a special Rillaboom for their collections. According to Serebii.net, trainers can obtain Rillaboom using the code “R1LLAB00M2024TW” in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet via the Mystery Gift menu. The distribution event runs until July 31, 2025, so Pokemon players have at least three months from the time of this writing to claim the Drummer Pokemon. Trainers must be connected to the Internet and have a free Nintendo account to accept Mystery Gifts, though a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not needed. Rillaboom can only be claimed once per save file and will be obtained at level 50 inside a Cherish Ball. This Rillaboom is modeled after one used by Wei Chyr, the winner of the 2023-24 Pokemon Championships held in Taiwan in June 2024.

Wei Chyr’s Rillaboom comes with a Choice Band and the moves Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, U-Turn, and High Horsepower. It has the Grass-type as its Tera type, along with the hidden ability Grassy Surge, which automatically summons Grassy Terrain when Rillaboom is sent out. Statistically, Rillaboom’s effort values (EVs) are 252 attack, 148 speed, and 108 HP. Rillaboom’s distribution runs alongside another Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gift event, where trainers can claim a free Rotom Phone case to match the game version they are playing.Between the Rillaboom code distribution and the ongoing Salamence Seven Star Tera Rait event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have different ways to grow their collections.
